# Why I Don't Like Confucianism Because it's too humancentric. In their framework, human behaviors and society reflect sacredness. Although there were some texts like I Ching, there was no systematic cosmology over 1000 years before Zhu Xi. And Confucian cosmology has been heavily influenced by Taoism and Buddhism even after that. Even with the great framework which Zhu Xi invented, what they have been mostly concerned about are mostly psychological philosophy, ethics, political philosophy. Li-Qi and Gewu Zhizhi could lead to something like western alchemy. Instead, they applied Li-Qi on the human mind and talked about how to purify the Qi part of the mind. And Wang Yangming even discarded them. Though I quite like him and think that he has points. On ethics side, I can't understand why social harmony is THAT sacred. And I can't agree at all on their statement that everyone has a role and if everyone fulfill that role well, social harmony (sacredness) can be achieved. No. What a bugmen ideology. Be a Renaissance man and do everything yourself. If you live alone and be self-sufficient, THAT means social harmony lol. Though I appreciate their attempts to find sacredness from everyday life. And its virtue ethics is notable. It's not about ethical actions or rules, but about becoming an ethical man (Junzi).
