# The False Dichotomy Of Real Vs Imaginary Existing things just exist. Not existing things just do not exist. There is no such thing that exists as ~. ~ can be a form, matter, a concept, a possibility, &c. ~ is just a property of the thing. Not an ontological class. If a thing exists, it is real no matter what. Santa Claus exists. People usually add "as a fictional character". I don't accept that. So he is real no matter what. There are vividness and vagueness. This distinction comes from George Berkeley. What commonly called real and imaginary correspond to that. However it is not binary. It is a continuous spectrum. Things are not vivid vs vague. Things are more vivid or less vivid. And I think numbers, desks, feelings are all almost equally vivid. Santa Claus is more vague than them. But he is still real. Conversely I don't accept that forms are more real than matter too.
