# Sakura, Gold And Silver There are the golden pavilion and the silver pavilion in Kyoto. They represent two contrasting ideals. The former is like the sun. It is noble, refined, elegant, pure, clean, otherworldly, transcendental. The latter is like the moon. It is natural, transient, harmonic, seasonal, but yet abstract and spiritual. I think sakura represents the golden mean between them. It is pure and elegant but impermanent. Mono no Aware. Conversely it is natural and seasonal but pretty and refined. Unlike Wabi-Sabi which is rustic.
