# Sacrifice, Miracle And Salvation Today is Christmas. In other words, it's the birthday of Christ. S o while I'm not a Christian, I thought of him today. Because I rea lly respect him as a person. Sacrifice - Miracle - Salvation. I think that's the core message o f the story of Christ. And the most important thing is sacrifice, since that enables the whole path. If you want to change the world, you should sacrifice something. Y ou can't change the world without sacrificing the benefits from th e Ancien Regime. Because of this, sacrifice is also an act against the system. It declares that you don't need the system. A famous example is Francis of Assisi. He sacrificed all his money and the relationship with his rich family to believe in god and to change the world. From this view, I agree with Christian anarchists. Christ was the ultimate anarchist and the sacrifice was an anarchistic act. Sacrifice is also an antithesis of today's modern materialistic wo rld. Today's world doesn't want to sacrifice. I think a reason is that the world doesn't believe in miracle anymore. And that would also be a reason of the current crisis. If you don't believe in mi racle, why don't you just satisfy with all the hedonistic pleasure s from the system? There will be no miracle. So how to change the world exactly? Christ showed a possibility. In terms of love, sacrifice means Agape. > But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you > , do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despite > fully use you, and persecute you; > > Matthew 5:44 He said that showing Agape will change the world. The key is love. And he somewhat changed the whole Europe. Why I said "somewhat" is because I think the direction of the change was not exactly what h e wanted. In terms of the technological system, Jacques Ellul said this is t he only way. Since the technological system makes a dialectical to tality but god is trascendent from it, the only possibility is god (which means this way of Christ since he was a Christian anarchist ). While I don't think this is THE way, it would be beautiful if that becomes true.
