# On Romans And Latinosphere In General Although I respect the Roman republic, I think the Roman empire is quite degenerate. But somehow I like the Byzantine empire. Maybe because of its Greek nature. But more importantly, for me ancient Romans were too down to earth. But Byzantines don't feel like that because of the Orthodox church and its theology which greatly emphasizes intuition and miracles. Maybe Latinosphere in general concerns too much about logic and rationality. But in a different way than ancient Greece. There is a public image of Anglosphere being like that. But Latinosphere is way more like that than Anglosphere (Anglosphere is just more mercenary). It's the culture of Thomas Aquinas and Rene Descartes after all. Maybe it's just a characteristic of French. But the Catholic church and ancient Romans in general are also like that with slightly different atmospheres. It's not a problem of Earth vs Sea. I don't feel that from Slavosphere. Because of that, in case of language, I personally prefer Greek rather than Latin. I genuinely think that if one would study only one of those, it should be Greek. Latin is overrated.
