# On Ancient Greek Pottery

It is the best pottery ever existed. Also it is the best ancient
Greek art. Pottery is the best. Not architecture or sculpture.


Like the orthodox church having icons and Zen having gardens,
ancient Greeks had pottery. Those are living textbooks.

Geometry, Symmetry, Ratio, Tessellation. Mythology. But also Animals,
History, Everyday life.

The former has the greatness of ancient Greek architecture and
sculpture. The latter has the greatness of cave arts. That is
partially because of its colors.


Black-figure, White-ground, Red-figure.

This moves me a lot because the colors correspond to

Nigredo, Albedo, Rubedo.

Mostly there are 4 colors maximum: Black, Red, Yellow, White.

So it naturally becomes like an alchemical painting. Conversely if
you try to use those colors for alchemical meanings, it would
converge to ancient Greek pottery.


Therefore it naturally becomes spiritual. It accidently becomes
the intersection. Or it might be a representation of the collective
unconscious. But regardless of the reason, it is unfathomably
beautiful and magickal.
