# Modern Science Has Made The Occult Irrational Or I could say this for religion in general. In fact, religion is a modern concept. There were churches & temples and devout people. But there hadn't been "religion" as a concept. Perhaps if you read classical "occult" texts, people were very rational unlike the modern occult. For example, let's talk about the 3 primes (sulphur, mercury, salt) of Paracelsus. Let's say you burn a wood. In that situation, it will result in the flames, the smokes and the ash after burning. So you can guess that a wood was in fact the sum of them (flames, smokes, ash). That's what the 3 primes means. In this case, * Sulphur: Flame * Mercury: Smoke * Salt: Ash Similarily, in the case of a human, * Sulphur: Soul (Emotion & Desire) * Mercury: Spirit (Higher mental capability) * Salt: Body (Human body) Thus (Thing) = (Sulphur) + (Mercury) + (Salt). I can't find any irrational nonsense in this. People just did natural philosophy instead of modern materialistic science. However, modern "rational" people call it occult or pseudoscience. I think the purpose is obvious. Modern science wants to monopolize the rationality. Moreover, it wants to monopolize "science" at all. It wants to make people believe that the current form of science is the only possible form of science. And the only rational form.
