# Making Unconscious Conscious

Carl Jung has written about alchemy being "making unconscious
conscious". That's technically not false. But that focuses on one
aspect of alchemy too much. As above, so below. Alchemy is universal.

However, if you are new to alchemy, I think the approach is actually
a good way to grasp alchemical concepts. Like the One is the
conscious and the All is the unconscious. Nigredo dissolves the
conscious and dive into the unconscious. Mercury. Albedo makes the
unconscious progress. And Rubedo coagulates the unconscious to
synthesize the conscious and the unconscious. Fire.
