# Local Minimum Rational thinking is marginal. It only concerns about the locality. So it converges to the local minimum. After you reach the local minimum, what you see are worse than what you already know. So it converges to what you already have known. Maybe this is what getting old means. But there is no guarantee that things are convex. Convexity means there is only one minimum. So that the local minimum and the global minimum are the same. Not everything is like that. Until you find the global minimum, you need to endure mediocrity. You need passion rather than rationality for that.
