# Do Not Care About The Cost I think frugality is not really about minimising cost. It is rather about simplicity. Just do not spend on things that you don't need. Do not over-optimise. Accept some economic inefficiencies. I think you cannot donate if you have the over-optimising mindset. Also with that mindset, you would cut off things like insurances. That's not good. You would buy low-quality products too. Moreover that's often what makes poors morally worse than riches. Because poors do not have enoughness in mind. So they can't become ladies & gentlemen. That's a serious problem. In fact everyone doesn't have to be if they go Thoreau. If you live like that, it doesn't cost much. For example, flour doesn't cost much. Even if it is locally produced organic whole wheat flour. How about water? But most people don't live like that. Do not care about the cost. Ask yourself whether you would get that in your house. With simplicity in mind.
