# Divine Simplicity Divine simplicity means that god is simple and does not have any parts. I'm not a Christian so I'll explain this from a Hermetic and Neoplatonic perspective. I don't think the difference is massive though. God as THE ONE (Monad) is like a mental version of big bang. It's the cause of everything. This could be hard to understand first if you are an atheist. But god is literally an abstract implementation of eternal principles. Especially in Hermeticism, Gnosticism and similar religions. In big bang, there was only one type of force. But after the universe sufficiently cooled down, the only force divided into the four fundamental forces. Gravitational, Electromagnetic, Strong nuclear, Weak nuclear. Similarily, in the beginning there was THE ONE. Then THE ONE divided into ("Emanation") good, truth, beauty, ..., everything. Well, emanation is more like self-replicating than dividing. Because THE ONE does not disappear. Therefore, god is the source of all truth and all goodness. God is all of those at the same time. So if you want truth, you should know god. If you want goodness, you should know god. If you want beauty, you should know god. Because god is [THE ONE] = [THE ALL]. It is simply the all. That's what divine simplicity means.
