# Chase Eternity "50 thousand years later, will your life still have any meaning?" Recently I thought about this topic. Of course, if you think the w orld is in your mind, this is a nonsense. So I will temporarily as sume that the objective world exists. In my case, if my life would have any meaning, I think it's becaus e of me doing mathematics. Since I often search about ancient math ematics too. If you are popular, you might have a historical meaning. But I thi nk only historians would care about it. I mean, seriously do you c are about Upper Egyptians? That's not even 10 thousand years ago. But we care about cave arts. We don't know who exactly drew Altami ra cave art, but we see their personality and mentality. So I concluded that in the long term, only eternal things will mat ter. God, Math, Art, &c. So at least by this reason, we should cha se eternity. On the other hand, in Hermeticism, Human = God (Eternal) + Nature (Temporary). More specifically, in Rosicrucianism, Rose Cross (Human) = Rose (Soul) + Cross (Body). Every soul is eternal, but it is trapped by the body. So only cari ng about physical desires is the biggest sin. ... I truly can understand this now. At the end, all that matters is eternity. And since the Medici family knew it (They reintroduced Hermeticism to the western world), they massively supported various artists an d scholars. That was the right decision.
