# Chase Eternity "50 thousand years later, will your life still have any meaning?" Recently I thought about this topic. Of course, if you think the world is in your mind, this is a nonsense. So I will temporarily assume that the objective world exists. In my case, if my life would have any meaning, I think it's because of me doing mathematics. Since I often search about ancient mathematics too. If you are popular, you might have a historical meaning. But I think only historians would care about it. I mean, seriously do you care about Upper Egyptians? That's not even 10 thousand years ago. But we care about cave arts. We don't know who exactly drew Altamira cave art, but we see their personality and mentality. So I concluded that in the long term, only eternal things will matter. God, Math, Art, &c. So at least by this reason, we should chase eternity. On the other hand, in Hermeticism, Human = God (Eternal) + Nature (Temporary). More specifically, in Rosicrucianism, Rose Cross (Human) = Rose (Soul) + Cross (Body). Every soul is eternal, but it is trapped by the body. So only caring about physical desires is the biggest sin. ... I truly can understand this now. In the end, all that matters is eternity. And since the Medici family knew it (They reintroduced Hermeticism to the western world), they massively supported various artists and scholars. That was the right decision.
